Susan W. Fenimore is a Certified Integrative Health Coach, Certified Yoga & Aqua Yoga Instructor, Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist and Healing Touch Practitioner for people and animals. She completed the Professional Integrative Health Coach Foundation and Certification programs in 2011-2012 from Duke Universityís Center for Integrative Medicine. She holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from UNC-Wilmington and a M.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation from UNC-Chapel Hill. She completed an initial Yoga Teacher training with Yogi Hariís Ashram in Fort Lauderdale, FL, in 1995 and then went on to complete a two-year teacher training certification in Raleigh, NC with Esther Myers in 1997. She also completed the Acu-Yoga Certification program (combining acupressure with yoga) with Michael Gach in 1999. In 2007, she completed a Yoga Therapy Intensive: Teaching Yoga to Seniors at Duke Integrative Medicine. In 2013, Susan obtained her certification in Aqua Yoga, with White Crow Yoga, Nashville, TN. In addition, Susan graduated in September, 2014, from InnerLight Yoga School in Cary, NC, Yoga Alliance approved, 230 hour teacher training, under the direction of Susan C. Jackson, E-RYT 500, BS. Susan has taught yoga over 18 years in a variety of settings including corporate, fitness industry, community recreation departments and privately. Her specialty is gentle, therapeutic and restorative yoga for beginner and intermediate students, especially seniors, 55+.
Susan graduated from Body Therapy Institute, Silk Hope, NC, in 2002, and has completed more advanced training in the areas of Reflexology, Craniosacral Therapy, Aromatherapy, Hot Stone massage, and working with people living with cancer. She also completed the Level 5 program in Healing Touch and was certified in 2002 by Healing Touch International. She has completed through Level 2 for Healing Touch for Animals and works directly with animals (especially cats) and their owners in teaching them simple but effective techniques for healing and enhancing the human/animal bond.
Susanís mission is to help people on their journey to become healthy and whole. Whether using her tools in coaching, yoga, bodywork or healing, she finds joy in working with groups and individuals who are ready to live their best life!
