What is Integrative Health Coaching? The word "integrative" refers to blending both conventional and natural healing methods to best support the individual's needs for optimal health. Health Coaching motivates and supports behavior change through a structured partnership between participant and coach. The coach helps you develop and realize your optimal health vision through inquiry, personal discovery and accountability.
Coaching can either be with an individual or group-based offered privately or at your business, non-profit, club or support group. Groups can either be theme-based (such as pain management, weight-loss, and cancer recovery) or can be open to individual issues with group support following a similar structure. We meet at least 6 weeks for 50-90 minutes depending on session content.

Swedish Massage Therapy
This type of massage can be light to moderately deep and is used to relax the body and facilitate healing. It includes long flowing strokes, kneading and friction techniques and can loosen stiff joints, reduce muscle tension and help clear nasal/chest congestion (please do not come if in contagious stage of cold/flu). It contributes to overall well-being and is widely prescribed by physicians to enhance treatment for insomnia, anxiety and depression. It is recommended once a month as part of a healthy lifestyle and in preventing illness/injury. You will undress to your comfort level but will be professionally draped and kept warm throughout the session. Susan graduated from Body Therapy Institute in 2002 and has been practicing Swedish & deep-tissue massage for over 11 years.
Healing Touch (available for both people and animals)
Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing energy therapy. You are fully clothed. Gentle touch assists in balancing your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It works with your energy field to support your natural ability to heal. It is safe for all ages, and works in harmony with standard medical care. Benefits include: stress reduction, calming anxiety & depression, decreasing pain, enhancing recovery from surgery, supporting cancer care, easing acute & chronic conditions, strengthening the immune system and creating a sense of well-being. Healing Touch is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Association. Susan completed all 5 levels of the HT program.
Reflexology is related to the ancient art of acupressure. The reflex points on the feet correspond to organs and structural parts of the body. Massaging and applying pressure increases circulation and breaks up the crystal-type deposits sometimes present in our feet, promoting healthier organ, nerve and muscular function, relaxation and well-being. The 45 minute session is just for feet and the 60 minute session may include hands, face, scalp and the use of warm basalt stones. You are fully clothed for this therapy. Susan is certified by Claire Miller, the founder of Integrative Reflexology.
CranioSacral Therapy is a light-touch approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health. You are fully clothed. Your therapist begins by gently touching various parts of your body to monitor the rhythm of the fluid that is flowing around your central nervous system. Delicate manual techniques are then used to release areas of dysfunction and improve the form and function of your CNS. It is so gentle; CST can be effective for all ages, from newborns to elders. It has been effective with headaches, neck & back pain, brain & spinal cord injuries, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, TMJ syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions. Susan has completed the first level of CST and will be completing additional training in the future.
Yoga, Aqua Yoga, Acu-Yoga
Susan teaches group yoga classes and works with individual clients to design customized plans based on the goals and needs of each person. Hatha Yoga is a health system involving physical postures, breathing, relaxation, and meditation techniques which enhances whole body-mind wellness. Some of the many benefits include: increased flexibility of muscles & joints, increased overall strength & balance, cultivates mental focus & concentration and contributes to overall well-being. Aqua Yoga is done in the pool and allows greater access to the poses since range of motion is increased by 30 percent; great for those with arthritis. Acu-Yoga uses a combination of acupressure points with yoga postures to gain greater effectiveness for specific conditions (i.e. organ imbalances).
